Mr. Bungle Unveil New Online Store, Promise Vinyl Re-Issues

Let’s face it.  It’s currently a great time  to be a Mike Patton fan.  First, Faith No More reunited in 2009, embarking on a world tour.  In July of this year, the band debuted two songs at Hyde Park in London, the first new songs that the band has written together in 15 years, sparking rumors of a new album being released at some point soon.

This past weekend, a new online store opened over at revolve.com for Mike Patton’s original band Mr. Bungle. The store currently sells various items of apparel, including the infamous “Tractor In My Balls” shirt that Patton wears in the video for Faith No More’s “Epic”.

The Weekly Dose 07-22-14 (featuring Parquet Courts)

This week marks an overall change in the way I’ll be putting together these weekly playlists from now on.  The original idea was to have one playlist that people would subscribe to and then each week it would be wiped out and a new batch of songs would take their place.  On paper, it was a good idea because nobody ever has to subscribe to more than one playlist, but then it eventually started to have an effect on the prior weeks’ blog posts, which contained links to those specific playlists (and the list of songs) but the actual songs would no longer match up.  If that makes sense,  then let’s move on.

Starting this week, we not only got our own domain (cuterthanpie.com) but I actually went back through every previous post and cleaned up all the links, videos and playlists.  From now on, every past edition of The Weekly Dose will be available to listen to on this site.  However, there is a new master Spotify playlist that I’d recommend everybody subscribe to. All previous tracks can be found there (currently around 100 songs so far) and it will be updated each week with the latest edition.

Finally, before we head into this week’s playlist, I want to thank everybody for the support over the last couple of weeks.  Not only did we move to a new domain name, but we’ve been averaging over 100 hits a day (and broke a record last week with a one day total of 465 views).

Coachella 2010: Day Two

If you haven’t yet had the chance, please read my review of Coachella 2010 day one… All caught up? Alright, let’s get going.

After a very packed Friday at Coachella, in terms of music AND people, we had originally planned on getting to the polo fields a little later on Saturday. The first act we wanted to see didn’t even go on until 3 p.m., but despite leaving a little bit later, the parking wasn’t nearly as bad and we made it there around the same time. Being a 3-day only festival this year, there were a few differences from past years. The most noticeable difference was that instead of three separate tickets for the whole weekend, you instead redeemed your one ticket for a wristband that you wore for all three days.

Another difference is that because of the wristband, they were allowing ins and outs. In past years, if you left, there was no getting back in, so you had to make sure that you were ready to leave.
